Milcroft Manor at SEM Haven Health Care

Milcroft Manor Household for Alzheimer’s/Memory Care is home to 18 residents. Life in our household is built around the special needs of those who live here. Each resident has a private room and bathroom decorated by their families so familiar things surround them. Our living room has a fireplace and piano for all to enjoy. Our beautiful dining room is filled with natural light and looks out onto our patio and outdoor garden area.

We have special security features built into our design to maximize the safety of our residents. We encourage visitors; however they must ring a doorbell and wait for a staff member to admit them. All of our doors into or out of the household have alarms that go to pagers worn by staff if opened without entering a code. Our outdoor patio area is protected by a fence and has a walking path for residents to follow.

Staff training on the care of this special needs population is ongoing. We believe in keeping residents very active and involved in the outside world – we go on outings and take them to our facility-wide social events on a regular basis. Inside our household you will frequently see our folks gathered around their fireplace having chats or playing games. We also find individual ways to engage our residents by learning what their job and daily routines were when they were younger.
