SEM Haven Addition & Renovation project, completed in 2007

Our construction and renovation project facilitates SEM Haven’s commitment to the Eden Alternative™ philosophy of senior care. We have created five new households within our home:

McCormick Landing, home to 22 residents in need of long-term care
Gatch Grove, home to 27 residents in need of long-term care
Ripple Ridge, home to 20 residents in need of long-term care
Milcroft Manor, home to 18 residents in need of Alzheimer’s/Memory care
Shumard Rehab Center, with a capacity of 13 patients in need of short-term rehabilitation or post-hospital care

The households have living rooms, dining rooms and serving kitchens as well as patio/courtyard areas. Care is provided in an atmosphere that encourages resident involvement in decision-making and friendship among residents and staff.

Our new facility has 56 private rooms and 22 semi-private rooms so the residents have a lot more personal space. The renovated portion of the existing facility is 22,621 square feet. New construction adds 22,216 square feet. We have doubled our space for the same number of residents (100)! Our Board of Directors is committed to creating a comfortable, spacious home for our residents.

In addition to our nursing center we have an Assisted Living household, Kugler Woods, built in 1989, home to 25 residents.

Residents and staff are proud of our new state-of-the-art long-term care community and also our model of care, which places the resident at the center of all decision-making.
