SEM Haven Community Update | March 30, 2020

March 30, 2020  |  Announcements, Life at SEM Haven

From Jessica Hall, Executive Director:

As the month of March comes to a close, we wanted to offer a community update.  While we continue with restricted visitation and social distancing, we are doing our very best to keep our residents engaged, happy and healthy.  We have hired two virtual visit guides to assist with connecting our residents and families during this time of separation. Nick and Samantha are working diligently to schedule appointments and facilitate communication.  We are also looking to see what other temporary positions we can create during this time to help keep our residents engaged.

Thank you to those who have donated items to our residents and staff.  As we know, Ohio is inching closer to the peak of the curve, so at this time we have decided to stop accepting donations to lower the risk of infection to our residents and staff.  The outpouring of love and support we have received is truly appreciated.

We ask that you please continue to do your part to flatten the curve:  stay home when you can, wash your hands frequently and practice social distancing.  One of my favorite quotes that I’ve seen during this pandemic is “The world came together while the people stayed apart.”  I think this quote depicts that although we are physically distanced, we can truly come together and be supportive of one another.  And maybe when we are on the other side of all of this, we will find that society will be a bit stronger and more unified because of it.

Stay safe, stay healthy.
